15th March - National Strike

On the 15th of March, the NEU is organising a huge march through London.  It will start in Hyde Park and finish in Trafalgar Square.   This is the biggest event that we have organised in a decade and it is taking place at the same time that the Chancellor will be delivering the Budget.

Members from across the country -  as far as Cumbria, Northumberland, and Cornwall -  will be travelling hours by coach to attend.  It is therefore vital that Camden and other inner London members take part.

Below are details of how to join the Camden group on the day.

Schedule

The Camden banner will be at the Animals in War Memorial, near the north-east corner of Hyde Park, at 11:30.  We will move to join the march at 11:50.

The march will form up on Park Lane (southbound carriage), with the front being at the junction with Upper Grosvenor Street – about 400 metres from Marble Arch.

From there we will march to Hyde Park Corner and then via Piccadilly and Haymarket to the rally in Trafalgar Square.

Travel

There is due to be a tube strike on the 15th and Park Lane will be closed to traffic.  London Overground, Thameslink, DLR and the Elizabeth Line will be running as normal.

Please make sure that you have planned your route to the rally point and how to get home from Trafalgar Square.

Again, we have members travelling from across the country to attend.  Inner London members need to ensure they are there too.

Health and Safety

If you see any behaviour that is concerning or inappropriate for our campaign, please report it to the stewards, who will be in hi-vis jackets, so they can respond to it.

If you are bringing children, please make sure that they are wearing something distinctive and that they have a card with your contact details.  Please tell them to find a steward if they get separated from you.
