27th April - National Strike

Activities will be taking place in Districts across the country.  In Camden, we will be focusing on engagement with the local community.  There will also be a social event the night before at The Pineapple pub in Kentish Town.

Please click here for details of the NEU's special dispensation designed to support provision for Years 11 and 13 on the strike day.

Members who face severe financial difficulty as a result of taking strike action should look at how to apply for the Camden Hardship Fund.  Click here.

Wednesday 26th of April

Camden NEU has booked the upstairs room of The Pineapple pub in Kentish Town from 5:00pm.  We would love for you and other members from your school to come down.  We will be providing Thai snacks and some drinks.

Whilst there, you can meet members from other schools, collect leaflets and stickers, and make placards.  There will be lots of pens and card provided.  Please be aware that the room can only accommodate 60, so please get down early if you can.

Thursday 27th of April

Where school groups wish to, there will be picket-lines/ school gate meetings.  The purpose of these is to engage with the public and to peacefully persuade colleagues to join the strike action (this will not include members at secondary schools who are staffing the provision for Years 11 and 13 covered ny the NEU's special dispensation).

Between 8:00 and 10:00am, we will also be asking members not taking part in action at their schools to help us distribute leaflets at Euston, Kings Cross and Camden Town stations.  Camden schools are currently £4.2 million worse off this year than last.

If you can help us with this, please let your rep know so they can co-ordinate with us, or contact the Camden NEU office directly.
