2nd March - Camden Rally
On the 2nd March, the Districts in the NEU London Region will be taking a day of strike action. Camden NEU is organising local events and we call on all members to turn out in support.
8:00 - 10:00
At schools that remain open, and where members wish to hold them, there will be picket lines. The purpose of these is to peacefully persuade others not to work and to join the action.
We are also asking for members not taking part in picket lines to volunteer to leaflet near to Euston, St Pancras, and Camden Town Stations.
11:00 - 1:00
Camden members will rally in the Kennedy Hall at Cecil Sharp House, NW1 7AY. Barnet NEU will be joining us. As it is World Book Day, we encourage all members to come dressed as a character or to bring a copy of their favourite book.
While here, we will hear from four speakers:
A Camden Headteacher member;
A Camden teacher and member of Brent Council;
Madeleine Holt, a parent activist and coordinator of 'Rescue our Schools';
and Louise Atkinson, the President of the NEU.
After the speakers, there will be the opportunity to engage in a number of activities to publicise the campaign, support good causes, and ask about how you can access further support. Hot drinks and pastries will be provided for up to 200 people.
